Fashion & Lifestyle: Stay Fit!

Stay Fit!

I have got lots and lots of questions on how I workout or stay fit with such a busy schedule! To be honest I have kind of pushed off this post because I don't want to be that annoying person that tells everyone every time I work out or am doing a diet or cleanse. I am sure you all know what type of person I am talking about! :) ha ha and I also feel like a hypocrite because I don't feel like I eat THAT healthy! This week after each of my posts I will give you little tips and tricks to what I do to stay fit with such a busy schedule. I will be honest, it isn't easy.. At all! Sometime the last thing I want to do after working all day is go workout. I would rather go home and lay around and the last thing I want to do is get up at 5 to go work out when I have to spend 8 hours of the day thinking and concentrating at work!
I was raised in a family where my parents both are into working out. My dad is a football coach and loves working out and my mom goes to two gym classes a day (I don't know how she does it). Also, when I was growing up at home we didn't ever have lots of treats and soda in my house. Deprived? Maybe.. but I see little kids now a days that are over weight and I thank the heavens above that my parents were pretty healthy. Yes we had treats and I love treats but I am glad we were very limited and I will do the same with my kids!

For today let me give you a little idea of what I do most days:
*I wake up and get to work between 8am - 9am
*I LOVE hot drinks. One of my favorite hot drink that I have discovered is Sugar Free Apple Cider. It is so yummy and it only has 15 calories.
*One of my favorite things to eat of lunch is the Oat Revolution oatmeal. It is so good and only has 90 calories and it fills me up!
*I SNACK ALL DAY! This is one thing I am trying to cut out, I work at a computer all day and it is so easy just to snack on junk all day and I do it a lot! BAD!!!!
* When I get off work around 5:30 I head to the gym and do a gym class. It is an hour long and it is extremely hard. For you ladies with kids I would highly recommend taking an hour out of your day (when your kids are napping or most gyms offer a daycare and I think it is only like $2 a kid) and do a good workout!
*Sometimes I have to go to my other job and work for a couple hours or work on custom blogs. Which makes it so I can't get to the gym until around 8pm or 9pm.
*After the gym we go home eat dinner and lounge!

I hope this helps a little! I will have more tips to come. :)

  1. Thanks for this post, Mariah! Seriously, I work a 9-5 desk job as well, and the hardest thing is finding the energy to workout after! I wish I could get my day started with a workout, but I just can't get up early enough for that! Thank you for the motivation ;) I think I'll hit the gym this evening for a bit of cardio!

    1. We can all motivate each other because it is hard! But I do feel like I have more energy when I work out! :) I just go to the gym right after work on my way home from work and meet my husband there! We have tried the whole come home, eat dinner then go to the gym but we always end up laying on the couch! Ha ha

  2. I'm a big fan of always making the time to workout. The key thing to remember is that just 20 minutes will help! If you're super busy or tired, just going on a short jog/run or doing some short pilates/yoga routine can work wonders. I only go to the gym for about 30 minutes a day in total. :)

    Great post! Inspirational.

    1. Ohh for sure! I love quick but hard workouts, they are the best and I feel like I get cardio in because I am moving fast and lifting hard! :) Thanks for the comment!

  3. This is so true. Lately I have been doing this killer 15 min ab workout in the morning on the days that I "have no time". Great post! Love your blog.
